Helmy

Yacht Management

Keep the record.

Raise her value.

The digital logbook for your entire vessel. Handovers, history and documents, accessible to owner, manager, captain and crew.

What Helmy is

Helmy is management software for yachts. It keeps a vessel's log book, maintenance record, inventory, expenses, charters, crew documents, handover checklists and the ship's own statutory papers in one place, so that what one captain knows is still known by the next one. Owners, managers, captains and crew each see the parts of the boat that are theirs to run.

Photograph the paper

Nobody types a certificate into a phone while standing in a wheelhouse, which is why so many boats have an empty folder. Photograph it instead: Helmy reads the type, the number, the issuer and the dates, and opens the form already filled in for you to check. A date it cannot read with certainty it leaves blank and says so — a wrong expiry is worse than none. The first 20 papers per boat are free, which is a whole statutory shelf. The same works on an engine or generator dataplate, finding the make, the model and the manual if Helmy has it — the first 5 plates per boat are free, and after that both readers are part of Pro.

The safety record, for an audit that asks

No software can make a vessel compliant — a company holds the Document of Compliance and the ship holds her Safety Management Certificate. What Helmy keeps is the record an auditor asks to see, in the order the ISM Code asks for it: defects and near-misses reported from aboard, drills with who attended, the equipment that must not fail and when it was last tested, familiarisation for somebody joining, risk assessments, permits to work signed by a second person, the muster list and emergency plans for the crew actually on board, the current revision of every controlled document and who approved it, the safety policy and who stands behind it, and internal audits with the clauses that have nothing filed against them. It exports as one dossier a surveyor can read.

Who it's for

Yacht owners and their managers, the captains who run the boat day to day, and the crew who keep her going — each by department, so a head of interior is not handed the engine room's work. Suppliers and chandlers can be listed too, so an order goes from a request aboard to the merchant and back without leaving the app, and a charter broker can be invited onto a single charter without being given the boat.

And the rest of her

Her certificates with the dates that matter, and a warning before one runs out. The log book with the track she actually ran, hours and fuel. Maintenance by date or by running hours. Stores, provisions and what was counted short. Expenses with the receipt photographed. Charters, turnarounds and guests. Daily and weekly rounds by department, the jobs handed out and the ones nobody closed, department reports, and a monthly account of the boat written for her owner. Condition photographs, area by area, and a handover that assembles itself from everything already recorded rather than being typed out by a departing engineer.

What Helmy does with your Google account

You sign in with Google, and Helmy reads only your name, email address and profile picture. If you turn on Drive backup, Helmy creates a folder for your vessel in your own Google Drive and keeps copies of your documents, photos and reports there — it can only see the files it created itself, never the rest of your Drive. Those files stay yours, in your account, and you can revoke access at any time.

The directory

Free to search, and no account needed to look: 744 marinas, 2,594 chandlers, engineers and provisioners, 5,761 owner’s manuals across 271 makes, and the makers who support Helmy.
